Lab1: Entanglement and Bell’s Inequalities
نویسنده
چکیده
In this laboratory, entanglement as one of the key concepts in quantum mechanics was introduced, and we concentrated on the polarized entangled photons. Bell’s inequality was used as a criterion of quantum and classic. The polarized entangled photons were created by Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion in Beta Barium Borate crystals. The coincidence counts were measured as the number of entangled photons by two APDs. The experiment focused on finding a proper phase matching condition by adjusting quartz plate. It is showed that there is a cos 2 dependence of the coincidence counts on polarizer angles, and the Bell’s inequalities were violated, which proved we have produced entangled photons by Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion.

Correlation functions, Bell’s inequalities and the fundamental conservation laws
I derive the correlation function for a general theory of two-valued spin variables that satisfy the fundamental conservation law of angular momentum. The unique theory-independent correlation function is identical to the quantum mechanical correlation function. I prove that any theory of correlations of such discrete variables satisfying the fundamental conservation law of angular momentum vio...
متن کاملViolation of Bell’s inequality for continuous variables
We construct a wide class of bounded continuous variables observables that lead to violations of Bell inequalities for the EPR state and give an intuitive Wigner function explanation how to predetermine which operators won’t ever exceed the bounds given by local theories. We have recently presented a general scheme enabling quantum modeling of different types of situations that violate Bell’s inequalities [1]. In this paper, we specify this scheme for a combination of two concepts. We work out a quantum Hilbert space model where ‘entangled measurements’ occur in addition to the expected ‘entanglement between the component concepts’, or ‘state entanglement’. We e...

We describe a strictly classical dice game, which emulates the main features of the EPR experiment, including violation of Bell’s inequalities. Therefore, the standard interpretation that Bell’s theorem provides necessary conditions for ‘local realism’ is disproved. PACS 03.65.Ud (Entanglement and quantum non locality)

Quantum information science has profoundly changed the ways we understand, store, and process information. A major challenge in this field is to look for an efficient means for classifying quantum state. For instance, one may want to determine if a given quantum state is entangled or not. However, the process of a complete characterization of quantum states, known as quantum state tomography, i...
